TW-Mill C - The stationary portal robot

Special benefits provided by the machining at all sides and automatic transport in and out of components on the expansion version TW-Mill C. Through the decision in favor of a stationary portal, in addition the disposal of waste wood/dust can be resolved centrally.

The version TW-Mill C consist of a statinary portal. The TW-Carrier moves along the X-axis, which is interpreted in any length. All TW-Carriers are identical and designed as full servo axis. A drive moves both sides of the car and allows precise positioning. Work pieces with a width up to 2000 mm can be clamped automatically.

In addition also large, curved glulam parts can be positioneded on the carriers. To avoid a friction during the repositioning of the carriers, the supporing surface can be lowered. Also the arrester and the clamping can be lowered. Like this the TW-Carrier generates a plaine surface so that the work piece can be transported in or out.

The portal carriages transfer the components onto these inclined trestles via conveyor chains. The machining of components at all sides is a great advantage of the TW-Mill C, thanks to the spindle working from below. Just like the disposal of scrap wood, which can be resolved centrally in the machining zone.

Particularly interesting is the automatic inward- and outward transport of components. The loading takes place via feed gantries, which suspend the component from robust chains and transfer them further to the chain conveyor of the portal carriage. The components are transported out on solid roller trestles.
